Loopallu takes place in Ullapool across September 16 and 17.

LOOPALLU 2011 SOLD OUT

With just over 3 weeks to go to the ‘Little Fest in the West’, Loopallu now in its seventh outing is sold out.

As a little treat ahead of the Saturday night headliner announcement we are delighted to confirm Glasgow’s finest Admiral Fallow as the latest addition to this years line-up. Their stunning debut album ‘Boots Met My Face’ was released earlier this year to critical acclaim and with festival appearances up and down the country all summer they are ready to show the Loopallu crowd what all the fuss is about.

The GoNorth Festival Tour rolls up to Loopallu this year bringing three of Scotland’s finest emerging acts to the festival in the shape of, lo-fi garage pop trio Paws, beautiful melodies and big choruses from The Imagineers, and recent Biffy Clyro & Newton Faulkner support act Finding Albert.

‘We are delighted to be closing this year’s schedule at Loopallu ‘, said goNORTH Festival Director Shaun Arnold. ‘The Festival Tour has proved a massive success so far, and we are really excited to be taking three of the most exciting emerging bands in the country up to Ullapool next month’.

Final addition for the moment is Scotland’s premier Ska outfit the incredible jugernaut that is Bombskare.

The latest additions join Friday night headliners The Feeling who have a back catalogue of hits to choose from including, ‘Never Be Lonely’, ‘Fill My Little World’, ‘Sewn’ and ‘Set My World On Fire’.

Regarded as one of the most influencial punk bands of the 70’s, Buzzcocks will also be joining the party with hits including ‘What do I get’ and the timeless anthem ‘Ever Fallen in Love? (with someone you shouldn’t’ve)

Fratellis frontman Jon Fratelli will be making an appearance. As well as playing songs from his new solo album, he is set to play some of the classic hits that made the Fratellis one of the biggest bands in the UK.

Next up is Kassidy who are leading the pack in the current crop of Scottish bands ready to break through to the masses.

Also, making her return to Loopallu, Rachel Sermanni who has been making a name for herself recently and is set to treat us with her last full band show of the year

The recently reformed Bluebells make their Loopallu debut, their huge hit ‘Young at Heart’ could prove the biggest singalong Loopallu has ever heard!

Rising stars of the celtic rock world, Tiree’s Skerryvore will also be making a welcome return to the festival and one band Loopallu wouldn’t be Loopallu without………the one and only Ullapool Pipe Band.

About MUSIC NEWS Scotland

MUSIC NEWS Scotland was born 12 years ago when dial up broadband was still around and desktop pc’s ruled. So we did what had been done since 220 AD in China and every month put ink on a printing plate, ran some paper over it and hey presto MNS was published (okay it was a wee bit more involved than that, but the basic principle was the same!) Move on to 2011 with high speed broadband and access to the www everywhere and the future was catching up with us rapidly. The volume of information flowing into MNS HQ was more than our monthly issue could cope with, and more and more Scottish music stories of great value were being spiked (an old press term not a dodgy drink). Reaching our vast number of readers in every conceivable nook and cranny of Scotland has always been a challenge monthly but to do that more often was physically not feasible. So we have doffed oor tam o’ shanter to the future and MNS is now a weekly digital publication, and not only weekly now but twice the number of pages than our old printed friend! Along with our weekly GIGguide and FESTIVALS! supplement we are now producing 72 pages of Scottish music news (and only music news) each and EVERY week:) We remain as true as ever to our launch roots of 8 years ago though - MUSIC NEWS Scotland supports all Scottish bands and performers no matter what style of music you’re involved in. Our aim is to circulate music industry news and to help to raise the profile of musicians and improve communications between genres. To help achieve this copies of MUSIC NEWS Scotland are emailed to key industry contacts throughout the UK. Thank you for your support over the last 8 years and please raise a glass to our digital future with you all. Thanks for your support, The MNS team!
